"I got myself set and knocked the shot down, that's it," Guyton said. "It wasn't no set play or anything like that. Somebody needed to hit one. I finally hit one. I was kind of lucky."

Indiana overcame a nine-point deficit in the final eight minutes as Temple (4-3) lost its second consecutive one-point decision. The defeats followed a 73-70 overtime setback at Pennsylvania.

Temple's aggressive zone defense kept Indiana outside for most of the game.

"That's why Temple plays zone. They get you to shoot outside shots and miss them, so they can get the rebounds," Guyton said.

The winning shot set off a mob scene of jubilation among Indiana's players.

"That's what you live for, to play college basketball and hit a game-winning shot," he said.

"I think if you went back over the times that we played for a tie or a win, I think you'll always find we've got for the win," Indiana coach Bob Knight said. "If you get to overtime, you may never get a chance to win."
