Hoard Reportedly Arrested

Minnesota Vikings running back Leroy Hoard was arrested in Miami Beach early Saturday for possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest, Twin Cities television stations reported.

Reports by KARE-TV and WCCO-TV said Hoard allegedly had the drug ecstasy.

KARE-TV said Hoard was booked at 5 a.m. and released at 9 a.m. WCCO-TV said he was released on $500 bail. KARE-TV said it was a $5,500 bond.

A Vikings spokesman said the coaching staff was scattered across the country because of the bye week, and they weren't immediately available for comment.

General manager Tim Connolly did not immediately return a message left at his home.

Hoard's position coach, Carl Hargrave, said he was unaware of Hoard's arrest and declined comment.
