Historic DC-Area Courthouse Burns
Fire broke out Wednesday at the Prince George's County, Md., courthouse in suburban Washington, DC, engulfing a large section of the ornate building.
About 100 firefighters were at the scene, fire and emergency medical service spokesman Chauncey Bowers said.
The fire broke out on the roof, in an older section of the building that is being renovated in this Washington suburb, he said.
"Our major concern is to keep this fire in the section of the building where it started, and then ultimately to get this thing extinguished," Bowers told CBS radio affiliate WTOP.
The courthouse complex houses the Circuit Court, District Court and Orphans' Court.
