Hijack Scare At JFK
Two Delta flights from Europe have landed without incident at Kennedy Airport in New York, after authorities reportedly received telephone threats of a hijacking.
Flight 191 from Paris and Flight 81 from Amsterdam were named in separate threats. There was no breach of the cockpits.
A spokeswoman for the Transportation Security Administration confirms that there was a hijack threat called in to the National Transportation Safety Board concerning the flight from Paris. She says the plane was isolated in New York, and authorities have questioned the passengers, who've been allowed off the plane.
She says authorities are also questioning passengers on the other flight.
The spokeswoman says Delta reports that both flights were routine.
