Graco Recalls Strollers over Strangulation Risk

Graco has issued a voluntary recall for two baby strollers after revealing that children can become trapped between the tray and the seat, leading to possible strangulation.

The company said consumers should immediately stop using "Quattro Tour" strollers made before November 2006 and "Metrolite" strollers made before July 2007.

The strollers in question were involved in the deaths of four children between 2003 and 2005, before a larger opening between the seat and tray was required in 2008.

Consumers don't need to return the strollers, but should contact Graco and request a free repair kit being offered by the company.

Complete list of all the models involved

In January, Graco recalled some 1.5 million strollers sold at Wal-Mart, Target and other major retailers after some children's fingertips were amputated by hinges on the products.

There was no similar recall outside of the U.S. for Graco's identical stroller models.

Instead, Graco issued "a voluntary safety notice for all countries outside of the U.S." to alert parents to the problem, "if the stroller harness is not used."

Advice from Graco on preventing injuries while using all strollers (Though it is important to note they advise U.S. customers to stop using the recalled models immediately):

• Secure child by using safety harness when they are in stroller
• Never leave a child unsupervised in a stroller
• Follow all manufacturer's instructions
