freeSpeech: Sean Hannity

Here we are, just a few short weeks before an important midterm election, and as you can tell on the news, people are pretty divided in this country.

How can that possibly be, just five short years after the worst attack on our homeland in American history? The answer, pure and simple: politics. And especially, the desire for power above all else.

Here's a quick quiz to make my point: Who said the following just before the invasion of Iraq?

"We need to disarm Saddam, a brutal murderous dictator. His WMDs pose a real and grave threat to America. We need to make certain we disarm him. ..."

You'd probably guess George W. Bush. But it was Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry.

Today, leading Democrats have reversed course. They are now leading the anti-war effort.

Former Vice President Al Gore once screamed at the top of his lungs that "George Bush betrayed his country" and proclaimed to the world that our government is committing terrible abuses against the Arab people.

Look, the security of our nation, our citizens, is the defining issue of our time. It's not Mark Foley, it's not Valerie Plame or the "scandal" of the day. We must win the battles in Iraq, Afghanistan, against terror.

For once, it's time for these power-hungry politicians to stop the political dance of power and be your protectors.

Sean Hannity joined the Fox News Channel in September 1996 as co-host of Hannity & Colmes, a prime-time one-hour debate driven talk show focusing on the controversial issues and newsmakers of the day. He serves as the program's conservative counterpart to liberal Alan Colmes. He also currently serves as the host of WABC-AM's afternoon talk program, The Sean Hannity Show.

Prior to his post at Fox News Channel, Hannity hosted a radio talk show in Atlanta on WGST-AM. He also frequently substitutes for fellow talk show host Rush Limbaugh on WABC in New York.
