Extra Extra!: Worker thwarts robbers by throwing newspapers

NEW CASTLE, Del. - An employee at a Dunkin' Donuts store in Delaware thwarted a robbery by throwing newspapers at the armed suspects, police say, reports CBS Philly.

The incident happened at about 7:15 p.m. Sunday at a Dunkin' Donuts in New Castle.

According to investigators, two suspects entered the store and confronted a 41-year-old employee. One of the suspects pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the cash register, reports the station.

The employee, however, refused to comply with the suspect's demands and began to throw several newspapers at them before fleeing to the rear of the store, according to the station.

The suspects then reportedly ran out of the store without getting any money.

The first suspect is described as a male, 5'9"-5'11" and weighing between 150-160 lbs. He was last seen wearing tan pants, a dark jacket and shirt and had a mask covering his face.

The second suspect was also a male, 5'7"-5'9" and weighing between 150-160 lbs. He was last seen wearing dark-colored clothing and had a ski mask covering his face.
