Ex-Wash. Gov. Likely Pick For Commerce

(AP)

CBS News has confirmed from an administration official that former Washington Gov. Gary Locke is President Obama's "likely" pick for Commerce Secretary, reports CBS News Political Director Steve Chaggaris.

As is well known, this would be Mr. Obama's third selection for the Cabinet post after New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, a Democrat, and New Hampshire Sen. Judd Gregg, a Republican, both dropped out after being nominated.

Locke, a Democrat, served two terms as governor from 1997 to 2005. He was the country's first Chinese-American governor.
