Edwards Wrap-up

(CBS)
From CBS News' Aaron Lewis:

KEENE, N.H. -- John Edwards kicked off a two-day swing in New Hampshire this afternoon with a community meeting in Lebanon. He was joined by old pals and supporters Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne who performed before Edwards was introduced. His wife Elizabeth and his daughter Cate are also on board for this New Hampshire trip.

Edwards picked up where he left off just yesterday in Iowa, sticking to his new re-tooled "America Rising" stump speech. The speech contains much of Edwards' consistent message of fighting corporate interests, but with a lot more intense emphasis on FIGHT and also a delicate balance of family. The speech plays well with the audience and gets a great ovation when he builds up to the "America Rising" climax..

Later, reporters asked him about personal attacks and whether they are of any benefit to anybody in the race.

"What I intend to do is make clear my positive vision for the country," said Edwards. "I think we've seen some silly stuff going on between some of the candidates but I don't think America's interested in that, nor do they care about it."
