Deion To Play October 3rd

Deion Sanders has told Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones that he plans to play in an Oct. 3 game at home against Arizona.

The Pro Bowl cornerback and kick returner did not play in the first two games or the exhibitions while nursing a damaged left big toe. He's been practicing the last few weeks after missing all of training camp.

The Cowboys (2-0) have a bye this week.

"Deion is definitely playing against Arizona," Jones said. "He told me he was ready."

It's only fitting Sanders is coming back to play the Cardinals since he was injured against them Nov. 15, and his first full game back was a January playoff loss against Arizona. He also played in the Pro Bowl before undergoing surgery in April.

Jones said he spoke with Sanders in the locker room following Monday night's victory over Atlanta.

"He said, `Take a good look. You see me dressed in these street clothes? You won't see me in them any more. The next time you see me in here, I'll be uniform,"' Jones said.

Sanders can earn a $1.5 million bonus if he plays in 70 percent of Dallas' defensive plays and makes the Pro Bowl. He's already the NFL's highest-paid defensive player this year at $6.5 million.
