David Schwimmer's 5-year-old daughter is a major beer-lover

David Schwimmer swears he's trying to be a responsible parent and not encourage underage drinking. But his attempts to derail any illicit appeal alcohol might have for his 5-year-old daughter, Cleo, might have backfired.

The former "Friends" star told Seth Meyers during an interview that Cleo, as it turns out, has developed quite the taste for beer.

"So listen, I don't know how the other parents are out there, but my thought when I pour myself a glass of wine that my wife and I have over dinner and my daughter says 'Can I try that?' I thought, 'Well, if you start saying no then they're just going to want it more,'" he explained. "So I thought 'Yeah, alright, yeah go ahead, sweetie, have a sip.' And luckily she was like 'Blah no!'"

His system seemed to do the trick -- until Cleo discovered an alcoholic beverage more her speed. "It worked until I let her try beer and she loves it," he said. "I'm serious! If I have a beer out, if I turn my back, she'll be chugging it."
