Courthouse Shooting Leaves 1 Dead

A county employee was killed Wednesday in a shooting at the Kimball County Courthouse, authorities said.

A suspect is in custody, said county jail administrator Linda Williams. She confirmed the shooting occurred about 3:30 a.m. EDT at the courthouse, where the jail is located.

No other details were immediately available.

Kimball, population 2,600, is in western Nebraska, about 60 miles east of Cheyenne, Wyo.
