Chic Home Challenge

The Early Show take its Chic on a Shoestring game home this fall.

House & Garden magazine Style Editor Brooke Stoddard stopped by The Early Show to show that you don't have to spend a lot to make your home fashionable.

She put The Early Show's co-anchor Hannah Storm, weatherman Dave Price and correspondent Tracy Smith to the test to distinguish the "steal" items from the "splurges."

House & Garden magazine recently kicked off a new section in titled, "Elements of a Room." In each issue, it focuses on one part of a home such as the kitchen, the bedroom or the entryway, and teaches readers how to use the newest items and trends in home accessories to quickly spruce up a room.

"At House & Garden, we believe if you don't want to decorate your whole home, you can be a smart shopper and do some things that will give it a quick pickup," Stoddard says.

She explains shoppers should approach home accessories the same way they view fashion accessories: a few new pieces can really make an impact without emptying your wallet.
