In 1985, TV Guide asked the question... Can lady cops really do the job?
Well obviously they could.
The ground-breaking show "Cagney & Lacey" starred Emmy winners Sharon Gless and Tyne Daly as two tough female detectives solving crime in New York City.
Gless and Daly took a walk down memory lane with Early Show co-anchor Harry Smith to mark the digital release of "Cagney & Lacey" episodes from seasons two and three.
"There were hot topics. It was ripped from the headlines time. And it was a very interesting political time for women," Daly said. "So we were in that place of telling stories on television for people who hadn't been heard from in the popular media. We were probably about ten years behind the movement."
