Bringing Help to Afghans
The group known as Cooperation for Assistance and Relief Everywhere (CARE) has been helping to provide food, shelter, fresh water and education to the people of Afghanistan since 1961.
CARE President Peter Bell tells UTTM Anchor Melissa McDermott the effect the attacks on September 11th have had on CARE's relief staff and the projects they had been working on.
The Taliban may no longer be in power, but the goals of CARE are still difficult to achieve. Mr. Bell told UTTM about the challenges the workers still face in trying to get food, water, education, and other assistance to the communities in need, as well as the women of Afghanistan.
