A. Rios Placed On Giants' DL

Outfielder Armando Rios, who was scheduled for arthroscopic shoulder surgery Tuesday, was placed on the 15-day disabled list by the San Francisco Giants with a partial tear of his left rotator cuff.

Rios left Monday night's game against the Milwaukee Brewers in the eighth inning with a jammed shoulder. He was injured an inning earlier while diving to catch a liner.

Rios said Monday night the injury felt eerily similar to one in 1997, when he partially tore his right rotator cuff.

Â"It was the same pain. It was a pinch, so that's why I came in,Â" Rios said after leaving the game.

The Giants recalled outfielder Calvin Murray from Fresno of the Pacific Coast League.
