Events: The People's Choice Awards air on CBS Jan. 9. The Golden Globes are handed out on Jan. 15. These awards often are an early indicator of what films may get Oscar nods. The Academy Awards nominations are announced on Jan. 23. The Sundance Film Festival runs from Jan. 18 through Jan. 28. The 13th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards take place on Jan. 28.
TV: Jack Bauer's in trouble again on the new season of "24," airing on Fox Jan. 14 and 15. Courtney Cox's new show "Dirt," about a celebrity tabloid, premieres on Jan. 2. USA's "Nashville Star" is back for another season on Jan. 11, and the season premiere of Fox's "American Idol" is on Jan. 16 and 17. USA's buddy comedy "Psych" returns for its sophomore season on Jan. 19.
Music: The Red Hot Chili Peppers are on their North American tour this month.
Movies: Clive Owen and Julianne Moore star in "Children of Men," opening Jan. 5. Justin Timberlake appears in "Alpha Dog," opening Jan. 12. Jennifer Garner, Juliette Lewis and Kevin Smith star in "Catch and Release."

Events:Fashionistas hit New York for Olympus Fashion Week Feb. 2 through 9. Music's biggest night, the Grammy Awards, will air on CBS on Feb. 11. The 79th Annual Academy Awards take place on Feb. 25 at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. They'll be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres and air on ABC.
TV:Prince will perform at the Super Bowl Feb. 4 on CBS.
Music:Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant star in "Music and Lyrics," opening on Valentine's Day. "Reno 911: Miami" opens Feb. 23. Samuel L. Jackson, Christina Ricci, Justin Timberlake and S. Epatha Merkerson star in "Black Snake Moan," opening Feb. 23.
Books:Danielle Steel is out with "Sisters," and Becky Bloomwood has someone new to shop for in Sophie Kinsella's "Shopaholic & Baby."

Events: The annual SXSW conference and festival takes place from March 9 through 18 in Austin, Texas. It includes seminars, music performances and film screenings. The annual inductions into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame take place this month.
Music: Eric Clapton is on his North American tour this month. Good Charlotte's new album is due March 20.
Movies: Scarlett Johansson and Laura Linney star in "The Nanny Diaries," opening March 9. Will Ferrell and Jon Hedder star in "Blades of Glory," out March 30.

Events: New York's Tribeca Film Festival takes place from April 25 through May 6 . The Coachella Valley Music & Art Festival is April 27 through 29 in Indio, Calif. The annual Kids Choice Awards are usually held the first weekend in April. Billboard Latin Music Awards are scheduled for April 26.
Movies: Halle Berry stars in "Perfect Stranger," out on April 13. Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner star in "the Kingdom," out April 20. Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling star in "Fracture," opening April 27.
Books: Mary Higgins Clark comes out with her first children's book, "Ghost Ship."

Events: The Cannes Film Festival takes place May 16 through 27.
TV: During the third week of the month, television networks traditionally hold their annual "upfronts," during which they announce their new fall lineups, talk to the media and schmooze advertisers.
Movies: "Spider-Man 3" debuts on May 4, "Shrek The Third" is out May 18, and "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" debuts on May 25.

Events: The 34th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will take place June 15 at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles. The BET Awards are usually in June.
Movies: George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon are back in "Ocean's 13," opening June 8. Jessica Alba stars in "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," out June 15. Steve Carrell and Lauren Graham star in "Evan Almighty," opening June 22.
Theater: Broadway's best are honored at the Tony Awards on June 10 at Radio City Music Hall in New York and broadcast by CBS from 8 p.m.-11 p.m. EDT.

Events: The prime-time Emmy nominations will be announced July 19.
TV: Some of cable's hottest shows return for new seasons this summer. Dennis Leary's controversial drama "Rescue Me" returns along with the USA sci-fi series "The 4400" and "The Dead Zone."
Music: Natasha Bedingfield and Rihanna may be releasing their new albums this month.
Movies: "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" premieres July 13. Doh! "The Simpsons Movie" debuts in theaters on July 27.
Books: "High Noon" by Nora Roberts is out this month. Although no official publishing date has been announced, J.K. Rowling is expected to publish the seventh and final "Harry Potter" book this summer.

Events: The MTV Video Music Awards typically take place at the end of August. The Primetime Emmy Awards air Aug. 25 on ABC. The Teen Choice Awards are usually in August.
Movies: Matt Damon returns in the "Bourne Ultimatum," out Aug. 3. "Rush Hour 3," starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, opens Aug. 10.

Events: New York's Olympus Fashion Week takes place from Sept. 4 through Sept. 12 The Billboard R&B Hip Hop Awards are set for Sept. 7 in Atlanta. The Latin Grammy Awards are held in September
Movies: George Clooney stars in "Michael Clayton," out Sept. 14.
TV: The majority of shows in the new fall lineup premiere in September.

Events: The London Film Festival is usually held in October.
Movies: Cate Blanchette stars as Queen Elizabeth I in "The Golden Age," out Oct. 5. The Farrelly Brothers' remake of "The Heartbreak Kid," starring Ben Stiller and Michelle Monaghan, is also out Oct. 5.
Books: "Creation in Death" by J.D. Robb is published this month.

Events: The American Music Awards and Country Music Awards are usually held in November.
Movies: "I Am Legend" featuring Will Smith is out Nov. 21. The animated "Bee Movie" features the voices of an all-star cast including Jerry Seinfeld, Renée Zellweger, and Matthew Broderick. It opens Nov. 27.

Events: The Billboard Music Awards usually take place this month. Several film critics' awards are announced, as are the Grammy nominations and the Golden Globe nominations.
Movies: :"The Golden Compass," starring Nicole Kidman, opens Dec. 7.
