11/11/11 meaningful wedding day for online daters

Michele and Daniel married on 11-11-11. Match

(CBS) - Those of us who are superstitious have occasionally closed our eyes and made a wish at 11:11 a.m. or p.m. I know I'm guilty. While people around the world are getting ready to make the most epic wish ever on 11/11/11, couples who met on Match.com are getting hitched.

Today's date Nov. 11, 2011 is what is called a "repundit palindrome," Aziz Inan, professor of electrical engineering at the University of Portland explained to the Los Angeles Times. The word "repundit" means a number that only contains the digit 1.

Michele and Daniel from Longwood, Fla. met on the online dating service in 2010. After a few conversations and messages, the couple decided to meet. Their first date was on New Year's Eve, Jan. 1, 2011 (1/1/11). Now happily in love, the number 1 has become a significant number. The couple shares their dating story online, where it's revealed that Daniel proposed on July 11, 2011.

"Our wedding day, 11/11/11, is quite a significant number to us. We have been together since 1/1/11 and see all sorts of 1s floating around everywhere we go; addresses, phone numbers, chapters of a book, the time of day, etc. Dan even chose the date 7/11/11 to propose! The number 1 is a symbol of unity, purity and positivity. On that chilly day in January, lightning struck. All of these we take as signs that this is it - we have literally found, The One!"

They aren't the only couple cashing in on the lucky date. Amanda and Holly from Slidell, La. And Patty and Steve from Tallahassee, Fla. are also getting married on this auspicious day.

We wish them all luck. And don't forget to set your alarms for 11:11 p.m. tonight
