Robbery Suspect Killed In Officer Involved Shooting
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Police fatally shot an armed robbery suspect Wednesday morning in South Los Angeles.
Authorities say the shooting occurred at 3435 Broadway just after 8 a.m. LAPD officers responded to that location on a report that a woman was being robbed at knifepoint.

LAPD Sgt Mitzi Fierro says the officers saw the suspect, " . . . with a knife to the woman's throat. She was bleeding from the neck and officers told the suspect to drop the knife."
Officials say the suspect released the woman then threatened officers with the knife.
The suspect, in his 40s, died at the scene. His identity was not released.
The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries she suffered during the robbery.
No officers were injured.
