The Los Angeles Police Department arrested a man accused of lighting a West Hills homeowner's American flag on fire.

Officers arrested and booked 31-year-old Kevin Miller for arson of an inhabited dwelling on Oct. 23, two days after the fire. He is being held on a $250,000 bond.

The alleged arson happened on Oct. 21 at around 7:55 p.m.

The homeowner, who is Jewish and also has a mezuzah outside of her house, said the man walked by half an hour before coming back and setting her flag on fire.

"We have it in the front yard, a mezuzah, symbolizing that we're Jewish," said the homeowner. "I don't know if it has to do with that, but it has to do with some kind of hate."

While the homeowner believed she was targeted because of her religious faith, detectives have found no corroborating evidence to back up that claim.

Miller does not have any prior arrests for arson.
