(CBS) --  Down one stroke with two holes to play used to be an automatic win for Tiger Woods, but over the past two years, just being in contention on a Sunday would be newsworthy.

However, on another gusty afternoon in Thousand Oaks at Sherwood Country Club at the Chevron World Challenge, Tiger birdied the 17th and 18th holes to beat Zach Johnson by one stroke, giving Woods his 83rd career title.

The span between his 82nd and 83rd titles included 26 officially sponsored tournaments, with his last win coming in November, 2009 at the Australian Masters.

Woods, who freshly minted a new sponsorship with an upstart nutritional company, Fuse Science, dawned the logo on his bag and he looked rejuvenated all weekend, firing three rounds under 70, helping Woods take home a payout of $1.2 million.

It's Tiger's fifth time winning this tournament, which his foundation sponsors. Woods will donate his purse to his foundation.
