Penny - RPSM
Meet Penny! When this year-old pit bull terrier mix was found back in April, she was a stray on the streets of Detroit, hungry and mangy. But after she was picked up by the Michigan Humane Society and nursed back to health at the MHS Detroit Center for Animal Care, Penny joined the Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan’s prison program, which teaches dogs how to be canine good citizens with the help of the specially-trained inmates at the Florence Crane and Lakeland Correctional Facilities in Coldwater. Today, Penny knows 27 different commands and loves to be cuddled! She’s been waiting patiently for a forever home for almost a year, so why not meet her today? The adoption fee includes sterilization, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping and more. For more information, contact Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan at (517) 238-9241, or visit them online at www.rpsm.us. Photo by Cathy Gray.
