How We Got Here: The Story Of 2014 In Three-Second Clips

CHICAGO (CBS) -- How did it end?

I first visited the "How We Got Here" project in September, during a time in which many of us wished the year would somehow slow down, providing us a time to relax and reflect.

Of course, that was never going to happen.

The holidays have been swept away, we are dreaming of tulips and fresh-cut grass.

It seems so far away, but it's not.

Using a series of short, documentary-like clips a film-maker named Joyland has set out to explore, "How We Got Here."

Joyland has now posted the poignant 12-part series spanning the entirety of 2014

"What events, both big and small, led us to this moment?" Joyland writes on a Vimeo page.

"Telling the story of an average month in just 3 seconds a day (shot entirely on a standard iPhone 5S), "How We Got Here" is an attempt to find a unique daily moment, regardless of scale, to put together a unified story of just how a life leads up to its present state."
