Woman Struck, Killed By Bus Son Was Driving

TANEYTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say an 84-year-old woman was struck and killed when a school bus operated by her son hit her while it was backing into his driveway.

Virginia Hammond was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore after Wednesday morning's accident, where she died.

Troopers say Ronald Hammond, 60, had finished his morning route and was backing the school bus into his driveway when Virginia Hammond walked behind the vehicle and was hit.

The accident is under investigation.
