Weather Service Confirms Tornado Near Largo

LARGO, Md. (AP) -- The National Weather Service says a tornado with winds up to 85 mph touched down near Largo.

The Weather Service says the tornado touched down about 7:25 p.m. Friday in the Marlboro Ridge subdivision off Ritchie Marlboro Road. Officials say the tornado, which lasted less than a minute traveled about half a mile before lifting.

No one was injured.

The winds uprooted trees and damaged three homes.
