Maryland House Of Delegates Passes Single-Use Plastic Bag Ban
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) -- Plastic bags are one step closer to becoming a thing of the past in the State of Maryland.
The House of Delegates passed a bill banning single-use plastic bags; such as the ones shoppers get at the grocery stores.
There would be exceptions for items such as produce, meat and ice.
The bill now heads to the Senate.
Back in January, Mayor Young signed a bill banning plastic bags in Baltimore City; that bill takes effect next year.
