Therefore, some drier and colder air will continue to filter into the Greater Baltimore area today.
Despite plenty of sunshine, expect temperatures mostly in the mid and upper 40s this afternoon.
The wind will be out of the west and northwest, averaging less than 15 mph, but there may be a few gusts to around 20 mph. Then tonight, under a mostly clear sky, most temperatures will wind up in the 30s.
We've been talking about a milder weather trend for the upcoming weekend, and it still appears that most places will wind up in the middle 50s tomorrow, and the low 60s on Sunday.
Winds will be relatively light, and should become southwesterly as that fairly broad high pressure system consolidates off of the mid-Atlantic coast tomorrow night and Sunday. While the temperatures are trending higher on Sunday across the eastern third of the nation, there'll be some exceptionally cold air pouring into the northern and central Plains.
Some of that arctic air will ooze into the Great Lakes region on Sunday night and Monday, but it'll also become greatly modified while doing so. In other words, the magnitude of the cold air will be diminished as it moves across the Lakes during the second half of the weekend and early next week.
