President plans executive order ending birthright citizenship
In a stunning move to limit immigration, President Trump is set to challenge a 150-year-old constitutional standard that anyone born in America is an American citizen. The president tells Axios that he will issue an executive order canceling that requirement for the children of non-citizens and unauthorized immigrants. The 14th Amendment, passed after the Civil War, specifically says: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States… are citizens."
