Woman Confronts Burglars In El Sobrante Home; Suspects Arrested In Concord
A man and woman suspected of burglarizing a home in El Sobrante on Sunday afternoon were arrested after investigators traced them to a residence in Concord, a Contra Costa County sheriff's spokesman said Monday.
The sheriff's office received word at about 3:35 p.m. Sunday that a woman had returned to her home on Hilltop Drive in El Sobrante and found two strangers inside, sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee said.
When she confronted the strangers, a man and a woman, the man brandished a handgun and the pair fled in a Chevrolet pickup truck.
Investigators traced the truck to a home in the 2500 block of Huron Drive in Concord, where they detained several people and arrested the two suspects, Lee said.
The man, Daniel Garcia, 24, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, drug violations, being a felon in possession of a firearm and altering a firearm, Lee said.
The woman, Marcela Hidalgo, 31, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy, he said.
