More InformationOur first stop isn't a food find, but a fashion one. It's been almost 200 years old since the first suspenders have appeared in England. For 30 years, John Nemic has operated the family-run Suspender Factory in Emeryville, which houses 3 million yards of suspender material. As a result, the San Francisco Suspender Factory creates 5,000 suspenders a day. And nope, they're not even in San Francisco.

Peet's Coffee is created in their state of the art roastery, located in Alameda. The roasting may be mechanized, but the process has a definite human touch. Owner Tom Frainier insists that their Alameda 33,000 square foot facility is just a nice, little bakery that produces 170,000 loaves of bread and 30,000 pastries a week. Bur Semifreddi's is a Bay Area treasure. Their popular, organic loaves of unbelievably wonderful bread grace the tables at some of the finest restaurants in the Bay Area, and of course, the homes of locals as well.

In 2009, when two out of the four Eggo Waffle factories had to shut down, production was moved to the San Jose facility. Kelloggs does not allow tours in this Eggo facility, but who knew Eggo's were made in San Jose?
