Gucci Gives Sneak Peek At 'Rush' Costumes
(CBS NEWS) - Gucci is channeling '70s style for Ron Howard's new film, "Rush."
The fashion house's creative director, Frida Giannini, collaborated with Howard to create the wardrobe for the racing drama, starring Chris Hemsworth and Olivia Wilde.
"Rush" is based on the true story of the 1970s rivalry between Formula One drivers James Hunt (Hemsworth) and Niki Lauda (Daniel Bruhl). Wilde plays Hunt's wife, Suzy Miller.
Both Hemsworth and Wilde's characters wear clothes from Giannini's past collections, which were inspired by the Gucci archive.
"The '70s has always been a decade that has inspired me greatly, so it was extremely exciting to be asked by Ron Howard to help design wardrobes for 'Rush,'" Giannini said. "It is hard to think of a more glamorous profession than being a racing driver in the '70s."
"Rush" arrives in theaters Sept. 20. See below for sketches of Giannini's looks for Wilde and Hemsworth:
