Top Spots For Free Art in Sacramento
Sacramento has a flourishing art scene and you don't have to dip into your savings account to enjoy it. There are many art exhibits and performances in the area that can be enjoyed without spending a dime. You just have to know where to find them. We've compiled a list of our top five favorite free art experiences.

This diverse art museum features something for everyone. Collections include California and American art, Early Meissen Porcelain, European art, Asian art, and Oceanic and African art. Enjoy free admission on the third Sunday of every month (donations are happily accepted) and on holiday Mondays (Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years). Active duty military personnel plus one guest receive free admission until September 11, 2011.
Exhibit to See: The Impressionist Exhibit will run through September 25, 2011.

Check out the local community college music experience. Cosumnes River College, located off of Cosumnes River Blvd in South Sacramento offers musical performances for the public. Performance to See: The CRC Jazz Band is pretty impressive and the Spring Concert Series is always a hit.

The San Francisco Mime Troup will be bringing their production of 2012- The Musical to two Sacramento area parks. The first performance will be at Community Park in Davis on Saturday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m. The second performance will be held at Southside Park in Sacramento at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2011. Both satirical miming (to mimic, not pantomime) shows are free to the public. Remember to bring a comfy seat or blanket to sit on in the park.

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the second Saturday of every month, art galleries open their doors to celebrate the art and artists in our area. In addition to art, there is food, drinks, music and much more.
