Zappos CEO influences businesses to choose happiness

(CBS/What's Trending) - Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh wants you to know that all it takes to be successful in life is to share your happiness with others. Don't believe him? Hsieh swears that being happy is the one philosophy that has helped him achieve his billion-dollar shoe empire. He stopped by the What's Trending live set today to talk about his "Delivering Happiness" tour bus and how a positive attitude can help a business grow.

Though having millions to spend doesn't hurt, Hsieh says that the saying about money not being able to buy happiness is true. He points out that people don't know what makes them happy, and often times, what they think will make them content with life is the opposite of what they need. Money and business are only the context, but happiness is the message.

In his New York Times best-seller "Delivering Happiness," he unveils his thought process and reasoning behind building the core family values for Zappos.com and how that translated into his success.

Many of you knew about Hsieh's business ventures, and were excited to hear him talk about them.

Hsieh acknowledges it's a company's responsibility to make a happy work environment. Backed by scientific research known to the Zappos community as happiness studies, Hsieh has a measured thought process behind his message. And if you need to find zen, look no further than Hsieh's own Twitter.
