Wireless Home Networking

Between homework, games, the Internet and parents bringing work home from the office.... competition for computer time can be pretty intense. And so one of the hot new product categories on the horizon is the home network. Diamond Multimedia is out with a wireless solution called HomeFree. Diamond's Rocky Scales...

"HomeFree is a wireless home networking system which uses radio frequency communication to allow two or more PCs to be connected together, thus enabling an end user or a household that has multiple PCs to share a single access to the Internet, share peripherals, such as printers, share files or to have multi-player gaming."

It isn't as fast as a wired network, but the connection is quick enough for most purposes...

"For a home network, if you're sharing a single Internet access among several different PCs, transferring files between two PCs at one megabit, certainly doesn't slow down the speed."

You can buy versions to connect two desktop PCs, that sells for about two hundred dollars... or a desktop and a notebook for 229. You can find more information at diamondmm.com.
