Where to Goof Off Online

It was created by Cathie Walker who was doing secretarial work four years ago when she decided she wanted to learn how to design web sites. She wound up creating a site called amused.com

"The Centre for the Easily Amused is the ultimate guide for wasting time online. It's comprised of a community area, thousands of links to other fun sites and a lot of original material like quizzes, trivia games and contests. It's a place where you can just go spend hours goofing off."

Walker was putting all of her spare time into the site, but not anymore. Now, with her site having been acquired by an online game site called uproar.com, it's her full time job and the site is attracted about 150 thousand visitors a day. With all the hubbub about e-commerce and all the serious business on the net, Walker says sites like amused.com provide an outletÂ….

"There's always been a need for things like Mad Magazine. And I think this is the equivalent of taking a comic book into the bathroom at work. We all lead such stressful, hectic lives that you just need to take time out."
Another site you can turn to just for fun is called gentlehints.com. It sells gifts you can send out anonymously. Gifts such as mouth wash, deodorant, or for someone who talks a little too much, a three minute egg timer.
