Where The Buffest Boys Are

Where do the healthiest men live?

The November issue of "Men's Health" magazine tries to answers that question by ranking the 101 U.S. cities where men are fittest.

Editor-in-chief David Zinczenko tells The Early Show the results are based on 20 live-long parameters, including death rates (both homicide and disease); illness rates (high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, etc.); body-mass index; fitness training; even environmental factors like number of parks, golf courses, etc.

This is the second year the magazine has composed such a list. Last year, Boston was ranked as the city with the healthiest men.

Here are some of the rankings from the 2002 issue:

Best Five Cities

  • Honolulu, Hawaii
  • San Jose, Calf.
  • Rochester, NY
  • Santa Ana, Calf.
  • Grand Rapids, Mich.

Worst Five Cities
  • Memphis, Tenn.
  • Philadelphia, Pa.
  • New Orleans, La.
  • Nashville, Tenn.
