What! Preschool Teachers Pop Pot Brownies

(CBS/The Early Show)
LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) Yum!

That was not the response that five California preschool teachers had when they unwittingly tried pot brownies they bought from a street vendor.

The Los Angeles-based teachers ate one brownie each and were "sickened" and became "tired" earlier this year after eating the marijuana-laced treats.

One educator even shared the snack with her son.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday that police investigated the April incident, which occurred at an unidentified school.

One of the preschool teachers bought the brownies from a sidewalk vendor and shared them with her colleagues.

The teachers recovered within hours. A brownie sample tested by Los Angeles police found traces of marijuana.

The CDC says a sixth teacher took a bite and spit it out after complaining of an "unusual taste."

The teacher who bought the brownies was not charged. Police have not found the street vendor.

No word if any of the 5 got the munchies.
