(CBS) Vivienne Westwood has a few words of advice for Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge: Cut back on the eyeliner.

During an interview with the Sunday Times Magazine, excerpted by the Telegraph, the British designer made it clear that she's not a fan of Kate's makeup regimen, which usually has her lining both her top and bottom lids.

"I think she's got a problem with eye makeup!" she said about the Duchess. "The sharp line around her eyes makes her look hard. Either she should be smudgy or wear none."

And she didn't stop there. Westwood, who is known for her eye-catching designs and counts Gwen Stefani, Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Bonham Carter as fans, also criticized Kate's sartorial choices.

"It seems to me, that her image is "ordinary woman." Therefore, high street shopper," she said.  "And I just think she should be an extraordinary woman, wherever she gets her clothes from."
