Video Shows Taliban Attack On Pakistan Military Base

Asia Times published an unseen 66-minute video produced by Ummat Studios on its website today. The video, dated Feb 2008, shows a group of Pakistani Taliban fighters attacking an abandonded Pakistani military base situated in a mountain area. The video showed the fighters using machine guns and rockets. Once the battle was over, they moved into the base. Some mutilated bodies were seen lying around, and a soldier taken prisoner was shown making a statement before the camera before being beheaded. The camera then showed a large amount of ammunition, rockets and weapons seized by the group. A very large crowd of men (about a thousand) were also shown performing funeral prayers for what seems to have been the only Taliban fighter killed in the operation. (watch the video)
