Truck hangs over viaduct as rescuers use crane to save survivor 01:09

A dramatic rescue unfolded on a Chinese highway this week when a truck crashed into a wall on the side of a highway over a viaduct in Guiyang, capital of China's Guizhou Province.

The crash killed one person and left another trapped inside the cabin as the one-third of the truck dangled dangerously over a 60-foot drop-off, RTV reports.

Rescuers raced to the scene and used a crane to hoist the trapped man out of the cabin.

"At the time when our rescuers tied steel wires onto the roof, the truck shook a little, very dangerous," Chen Keqi, squadron head of a highway rescue team in Baiyun District, told RTV.

Rescuers said later there was a real danger the truck could have broken up at any time.
