TV Guide has come out with a list of the 50 greatest movies to watch at home or to rent from your local video store. Editor-in-chief Steven Reddicliffe says the picks are all four-star films that translate well to the small screen. Number one: The Godfather Part II (1974).
Reddicliffe explains: "We wanted movies that really held up to repeated viewings...that you'd show people...that you'd watch again on your own, and also movies that really looked good on TV."
For plain entertainment and fun, try Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969). Also recommended are The Lion King (1994), Saturday Night Fever (1977), Jaws (1975), Dirty Harry (1971), Bonnie and Clyde (1967), Citizen Kane (1941), The Wizard of Oz (1939), and The Bride of Frankenstein (1935).
