Trinidad Scorpion Chili: Hottest chili pepper in the world?

(CBS) - I love spicy food. Bring on the chili, the curry, the habaneros and more - I'll down it all and probably smile afterwards and thank you. Which is why I'm so intrigued by this video that purports to be a new variety of chili that is the hottest in the world. To me that simply says one thing: a new challenge!

After one year of development, The Hippy Seed company and The Chili Factory present a new contender for the hottest chili coming out of Australia: the Trinidad Scorpion Chili (Butch T is the cultivar, to be exact).

The group claim that this particular chili measures a mind-blowing 1,463,700 Scoville Units of heat.  To give you an idea, that would be well above any other chili and not too far away from pepper spray, so I imagine there will likely be some tears and possible blinding involved in this experience.  Sounds like a challenge to me!
