"The Voice": Double elimination leaves 10 contestants

Tuesday night's episode of "The Voice" sent two contestants packing, whittling down the list from 12 to 10 contenders vying for a Universal Music Group record deal.

The evening kicked off with Christina Aguilera, joined by Cee Lo Green, belting out "Make the World Move," from her new album, "Lotus." The one-hour show also featured a series of other performances, featuring coaches and their respective team members. Green performed a cover of the Bee Gee's "Stayin' Alive," and Blake Shelton took on Tom Cochrane's "Life is a Highway." Musical guest Jason Aldean sang "The Only Way I Know."

But the good musical vibes couldn't continue all night; eventually two contestants would be sent home.

Throughout the episode, host Carson Daly announced which contestants would be advancing to the next round based on viewers' votes. He wrapped with the lowest-ranked finalists: Michaela Paige and Adriana Louise.

Paige -- from Team Blake -- performed Pink's "Blow Me One Last Kiss" the previous night. After her elimination on Tuesday, Shelton said, "This is her first stab at this thing. She's going to be a star. You're going to see her many times...her big ol' mohawk is going to be walking across the stage at the Grammys."

Aguilera, meanwhile, had to say goodbye to her team member, Louise, whose rendition of Carrie Underwood's "Good Girl" on Monday failed to impress the judges.

"Thank you for being everything that I could have wished for and more," Louise told Aguilera, who said to the exiting finalist, "At this point, you're going to go beyond this show. This is only a moment in time that will pass."

"The Voice" returns Monday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. The remaining 10 contestants will sing live for a shot at advancing to the next round.
