The very first Friday Music Round-Up of 2013

(CBS News) Happy New Year! We're kicking off our very first Friday Music Round-Up of 2013 here on The Feed and want to make sure we start with a bang. Or in this case, maybe a "drop" is more apt. Check out the new video above from a musician who is synonymous with dubstep: Skrillex!

I honestly can't think of a better way to kick off the brand new year than this one. The sweet new music video for the song "Summit" features Ellie Goulding and was created by Pilerats.

And for our second item, we go from the well-known to the lesser-known (at least in comparison), but still amazingly talented. I've actually been holding off on posting this one, only because we had a run of Rihanna for a while. But time passes, and I can finally unveil this amazing cover of "Diamonds" below posted by Alex Goot, and featuring him along with Julia Sheer and Chad Sugg.

We always encourage our fans to submit original music or anything we may have missed, and you have delivered again. Fan of The Feed and musician, Jocelyn Pelichet, sent us a wonderful music tribute to 15 musicians who passed away in 2012 that holds our next spot below.

For our focus on the visual along with auditory this week, we have an amazing piece of work by Vimeo user Jonathan Britnell entitled "2012. 366 days. 366 seconds." that shows a second of his life each day with music by Wild Cub. I can't express enough: you really need to see this one.

Our final item in the Friday Music Round-Up is simply too amazing for words. But I get paid to write words, so I'll go ahead and try my best. This one will likely shock and amaze you when you see it. Watch a sneak preview of the up-and-coming "heavy metal" band Compressorhead at the bottom.

With that, I hope everyone enjoyed our first round-up of 2013 and has an amazing weekend. As always, keep coming back to The Feed for all of your viral (and music) video needs!
