The Family That Plays Together

The Wilkinsons (guitar-playing dad Steve and his singing children, 16-year-old Amanda and 14-year-old Tyler) have taken country music by storm, reports CBS 'This Morning' Co-Anchor Mark McEwen.

They're a family trio who have emerged as one of this year's hottest acts in country music, and they will be the opening act for Alan Jackson's upcoming tour.

Their first album (Nothing But Love) and first single (26 Cents) have brought them instant country success.

"It was a dream, it was a wild dream for us," says Tyler, "but we're glad that it came true for us." Amanda chimes in, "We've been waiting for this a long time."

This Cinderella story began less than a year ago, when the Wilkinsons moved from Canada to Nashville to pursue their dreams.

Says dad Steve, "We sold our house. I got a publishing deal, and moved the family to Nashville on what I referred to at the time as 'The Great Adventure' - and it has been."

That adventure included a recent stop in New York City and a trip to the famous toy store FAO Schwarz. For Tyler, a self-proclaimed Star Wars fanatic, it was a golden opportunity to shop.

Whether hanging out in a toy store or making music, the Wilkinsons are a family whose dreams have come true.

"I'm way past where I've dreamed before," says Steve. "I get up days and don't know what to dream next."
