"The Ex List" Rekindles Old Flames

Searching for your soul mate is never an easy task. In the case of Bella Bloom, it means reverting back to your past in search for Mr. Right.

In the new CBS sitcom "The Ex List," Bella, played by "Grey's Anatomy's" Elizabeth Reaser, is a flower shop owner and a San Diego surfer girl who is on a quest to get married and live happily ever after.

Discouraged by failed relationships, Bella seeks the advice of a fortune teller who tells her that she has one year to get married or she'll never get married, but there is a catch. Mr. Right is someone she supposedly already knows, hence "The Ex List."

The show takes viewers on Bella's journey of reconnecting with old flames to see if she missed something the first time around.

Early Show national correspondent Hattie Kaufman got a behind-the-scenes look at the new show and learned a little more about Bella's list of old boyfriends.

"I go through all of my exes -- and there's a few -- so I have to find the guy. We have to kind of go re-date these guys," said Reaser.

In the first episode, Bella is re-dating an old musician boyfriend, who is the first of many on a long list of exes.

During her adventures, Bella is either re-falling in love or finding out what a jerk the ex was and why she left him in the first place.

"There's a lot of that, oh, yeah right.. that's why we broke up, yeah! It's fun to see how they've changed," she said.

The one person who never disappoints Bella is her best friend and next door neighbor Augie, played by Adam Rothenberg.

"I'm sort of her voice of reason. Sort of dry and sarcastic. I give her a cold splash every once in a while," Rothenberg said.

The entire cast gets a cold splash nearly every episode when they retire to the kiddie pool.

"It's sort of our version of an African watering hole. It's where we sort of end up and convene at the end of the day," he said.

"I love Bella. She is so vivacious, passionate and open. I think she is authentic and she rings true for me," Reaser said.

The actress admits that she has some parallels to her character.

"A little Bella," she admitted.

"The Ex List" airs on CBS Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
