Tamberlane Phillips: Family is "Dog Urine" Compared to Yogi Nityananda of Ganeshpuri
NEW YORK (CBS/AP) Mackenzie Phillip's half brother, Tamberlane Phillips, lashed out at his family, comparing them to a "bowl of dog urine," after learning of the 10-year sexual affair between Mackenzie and his dad, pop superstar John Phillips of "The Mamas and Papas" fame.

Tamerlane, 38, told the New York Post that his "family is and always will be a decrepit bowl of dog urine compared to Nityananda of Ganeshpuri. That is how great Nityananda is." He continued "Worship Nityananda, not the Phillips family... Nityananda can protect you."
What does any of this mean? We have no idea, but it might be the only humerous story line in an otherwise disturbing tale of drug abuse, incest, and abortion that has come out of Mackenzie Phillip's, 49, new book "High on Arrival."
Among the list of bombshells Mackenzie has dropped in both the book and a Wednesday appearance on Oprah:
The "One Day at a Time" star first had sex with her father at 19 when he tried to stop her from getting married. Instead they got high and had sex, which she described as rape.
Phillips wrote in her book: "I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father."
After that though, she said it was consensual.
She also said the 10-year sexual affair stopped after she became pregnant and did not know if her own father was the father. He paid for the abortion.
She told "The Oprah Winfrey Show" that her siblings "definitely have a problem with this."
Winfrey also read a statement from Genevieve Waite, John Phillips' wife at the time of the alleged abuse and Mackenzie's stepmother. Waite's statement said John Phillips, who died in 2001, was "incapable, no matter how drunk or drugged he was, of having such a relationship with his own child."
