Taliban Denies Pakistan's Involvement In Attack On Karzai

The Taliban issued denied in an Internet statement today that Pakistan had any hand in the assassination attempt on Afghani President Hamid Karzai during a military parade in Kabul on April 27. Taliban spokesperson Zabihulla Mujahid said the perpetrators of the attack were all Afghan "martyrdom seekers" and their corpses have been handed over to their families in Logar. He promised that a video tape will be delivered to the media to confirm the Taliban's version of the story. Mujahid also denied reports by Afghan security services on the eradication of the Taliban from Kabul. "Let them watch what will happen in Kabul in the next few days," Mujahid said.
