Taliban Claims Responsibility for Suicide Attack on U.S. Convoy in Afghanistan

A Taliban suicide bomber attacked a U.S. convoy on the Jalalabad-Torkhom highway at 7:30 am today, according to a statement posted on the group's website. The statement claimed nine U.S. soldiers were killed and two tanks destroyed in the attack. The suicide bomber was identified as Al Hafez Ibrahim from Kunar. The statement said he used a booby-trapped car and attacked the convoy as it was passing on the White Bridge in the area of Markouh.
