Sutherland eager for a "24" movie

The celebrated TV crime drama "24" ended in 2010, but talk about a movie has gone on for years.

So will the "24" movie ever be made?

Actor Kiefer Sutherland, who starred as Jack Bauer during the show's eight seasons, said he wants to movie to be made.

"I have wanted this to happen for so long," he said. "...As television is changing, I mean, I thought it should have been happening while we were making the show. It will happen when the time is right. There are so many variables."

One of those variables is Sutherland's schedules. He is currently starring in the Fox show "Touch" about a father and his emotionally challenged 11-year-old son Jake who can predict future events.

Sutherland said, "We want the right director, the right actors. Everybody's schedules are up in the air. My schedule is so finite, given (my current show) - the window I have to make it. I have to kind of check my enthusiasm to make it at the door and make sure that we make the best film. We have to wait for those circumstances to be in line."

Did you know Sutherland is a grandpa? His grandchildren's nickname for him is "Grampy," but it comes out in their Scottish accent as "Grumpy." For more with Sutherland on his family, including his father Donald Sutherland's role in "Hunger Games," watch the video in the player above.
